Five ATCs; Ideas of Floating Space

These five ATCs were an exploring of ideas for a Mail Art Watercolor ATC swap. Each one works in a slightly different way. I chose the fifth one and did ten Watercolor ATCs based on it.

  1. oh yeah, there you go with that foreground background interchange - these really do pop though like lightbulb ideas. How DO you arrive at those colors, and vibrancy? Really nice, Wrick. I like the contrast - the bold foreground idea is a perfect foil to the subdued, muted background. Or is that the other way around? Either way, beautiful.

  2. Hi Wrick,
I just found your wonderful comment about Love Medicine video over at my blog from way back in June. Thank you for spending the time to watch and to respond. I appreciate your man's point of view, and all your comments. I am really happy to see that you have a blog I can visit. It seems to focus at this time on ATCs, which I have heard of. It looks like you are having fun, and having fun with friends. I have responded to your post back over at Touching Art, so you can find it if you'd like to continue the conversation.
    Happy arting,
    Carla

  3. thanks V. K. a touch of foreground/background play makes things exciting for me. ...not to mention sometimes like life, yes. i definitely like when someone catches that light switch going on..

sometimes i feel like i too often reach for my standard colors. so... sometimes... i try very hard to play out of that and into something else. other than that... sometimes... it's a mystery to me.. but one i continue to explore... thanks.

as you can see sometimes i disappear. so no worries about way back time. (sometimes i think time is such a human made concept - and other times i KNOW it is).

your work is terrific and special (imo). i was fascinated with your process and the ways in which you personalize your exploration in creativity. way cool on that.

in the last couple of years i've been exploring mail art more and more. you are right - it's fun. i doubt if we ever have too much fun in life. mail art tends to bring together people from all walks of life - ages, disciplines, abilities - and i like that too. it places art back into the realm of humanness - which is also something i see in your work - humanness. that to me is a very important element of art.

thanks for visiting and i hope we do dialogue on your site and here as well.
