  1. Neat card! And I don't normally like crows.

I'd love to see a Hawaiian crow though.

  2. Wow! That's really cool, and very unique. I haven't seen anything like this anywhere else. I love the soft feel and bright colors.

  3. aloha LemurKat - thank you. even more impressive when you dont normally like crows! bwahahahahah. cool. i'd like seeing Hawaiian crows too. unfortunately it's my understanding they are extinct in the wild. a few may still be around in the "non-wild". may be someday they will make a comeback return.

the crows i've used in this image are from photos i took some time ago. without really looking the where and when up they may be from several places - travels. ...including the east coast USA, Australia (do they have crows?) and possibly Indonesia (do they have crows?) - still... the image of a crow is crow and i like them as a being creature. - thanks again - have fun, yes - aloha Wrick

  4. aloha Ares Vista - thank you. paint texture as well as color is very appealing, yes. from course and crisp to slick and creaming... - and beyond those words.

this is really a some what complex effort piece.

i used an acrylic background ATC that i had painted. (samples of ATC Acrylic Backgrounds are posted on a previous date in this blog - june 21, 2009).

from there i used Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 to do my digital drawing/painting. i have several versions of that stage.

after that i took this particular version into Corel Painter Essentials 4 and used their photo painting program to alter the digital drawing/painting i had done using a Wacom Cintiq pen/tablet. that program allows an extreme amount of control over the photopainting system.

this is the end product of my process.

i hope you are a painter. i hope you explore the same kind of painting texture excitement that intrigued you with this piece.

...and of course, i hope you have fun too! - aloha - Wrick
