Oooh, I love the sea in the winter. Of course, it is a bit cooler in NY, but it is so wonderful. The cool colors and glorious wave make it almost possible to taste that salty spray. Thanks Wrick!
ReplyDeletealoha Vickie - winter seas can be wild and beautiful, yes. . . of course awing too. i suspect you're right about the temperatures... the big surf here in Hawaii is often generated by winter storms literally thousands of miles away. the waves travel across the ocean and well up as they approach the island shores. even tho it may be a storm generated wave the weather where the wave begins may be quite different from the weather when it reaches Hawaii. this particular day i think the waves and weather were just not suited to surfing at all. waves like this are spectacular to watch... and taste - even from the shore.
