ATC Title: Flutter Wing
Ink, Watercolor and Acrylic
Two Flutter Wing ATCs that encourage the viewer to flutter the butterfly wings. Hold the body side of the butterfly up to a mirror then flutter the wings gently.
The image in the mirror will have a space between the wing halves, which is the thickness of the mirror. In the mirror it will look something like this:

Flutter Wing ATC With Simulated Mirror Image
Aloha V.K.
ReplyDeletethere is an element of magic in butterflies, yes. somehow for me the completion of the butterflies which can only be done in a mirror holds a similar magic. we are doubled but the butterfly becomes complete.... erm... or something like that. it's fun to gently flutter the wings for a moment little sparks of thought drift in the mind about the world around us in those slow wing movement moments - at least that is what i've found. i've actually done several more. the idea just caught me and was fun. good thing, yes - fun.
thanks for stopping in - aloha - Wrick.
I love the idea of movement and interaction with the art. Very cool.
ReplyDeleteI loved these....the mirrored reflection of them...
ReplyDeletewhat beautiful color too...
thanks ducky - that movement and interaction of the viewer with the art got me excited too. sometimes a small spark ignites and it becomes way fun, yes. cool. thanks for stopping by and taking a look.
ReplyDeletealoha and thank you Jane - thanks for taking a look. these were a departure for me in many ways altho still essentially me i think. the color playing is evolving and mixing - it's that exploration that makes life fun, yes. have fun. aloha - Wrick.
