my titles often center around thoughts that cycle through my mind as i am working on something as well as what i am doing in the image. i try to get at both the drawing/painting or what ever i am working on with my titles but i also like to connect titles up with what is going on inside of me as i'm working. what is going on inside of me becomes part of what goes on in the work. so i like to link them.
ReplyDeletespider mind has to do with the essence of spider. what makes a spider a spider? our labeling it a spider? no. i doubt if spiders know the word we use for them. even if a spider does not have a mind as we think of a mind, still there is something driving that life form we call spider.
if i'm toying with this kind of thinking while i'm working on this drawing and thinking thoughts along these lines it eventually merges into the way i think of the work - so.. i title it that way.
