Butterfly Words: ATC

This is the 3rd of Four Mixed Media ATCs that were similar from a year ago (2007). It includes digital drawing and painting - which was then printed as a photo, cut to size and attached with grommets to an ATC that was painted with watercolor.

Two Cat ATCs

Designing - drawing and cutting - my own stencils is a fun way to include stencil work in my pieces. I've used letter stencils for years to create texture as well as words and shapes in my compositions. Creating creatures in a stencil form is simply another step in the process. This cat is a recent stencil. Digital technology makes it easy to create several sizes.

Postcard: Playful Cat with Secret Code

It's fun to incorporate mystery and challenge into works. In some cases I use simple codes or other devises as compositional elements and to add a sense of mystery as well as visual intrigue that can be explored by a viewer.
